A new social and physical activity program for older Murraylands residents is launching in Murray Bridge this week.

Silver Salties, a Surf Life Saving Australia initiative aimed at people aged 65 and over, will hold its first Murray Bridge session at Sturt Reserve from 10am tomorrow, Tuesday 1 September.

The program is designed to encourage older Australians to stay active, build social connections and become involved in their local surf lifesaving community. Activities include gentle exercise like yoga and tai chi, walking and social gatherings including coffee catch-ups.

Silver Salties has been running at surf lifesaving clubs around Australia with programs tailored to the interests and abilities of participants.

The Murray Bridge Life Saving Club is inviting people aged 65 and over to come along and find out more about the new program.
