Music legend Lionel Richie is currently recovering in an intensive care unit (ICU) in St. Louis, Missouri, following a health scare during a weekend concert.

The 77-year-old checked himself into a local hospital after his Saturday night performance at The Muny in Forest Park. According to reports from TMZ, doctors are currently investigating possible slight dehydration, with the singer choosing to be cautious with his health.

Concertgoers noticed the star was struggling towards the end of his set. Things reached a point where Richie asked his crew to bring out a chair so he could sit down to perform his iconic final track, All Night Long.

This isn’t the first time the singer’s health has made headlines recently. In June, Richie was forced to end a show in Minnesota early after experiencing dizziness while singing Dancing on the Ceiling.

Handling that situation with his trademark charm, he joked to the crowd, “When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your arse down.” However, after leaving the stage for a quick break, his saxophonist confirmed the show was cancelled because the star simply wasn’t feeling well.

Richie subsequently cancelled tour dates in Chicago and Columbus, but bounced back a little over a week later. At the time, he took to Instagram to reassure his followers, writing, “I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.”
