Adelaide Hills commuters will see major changes to bus services from Monday 12 October, with 150 additional services being introduced across the region each week.
The changes are part of a wider Adelaide Metro timetable overhaul, covering 68 timetables across Adelaide, the Hills and some school routes. The changes are designed to improve reliability, connections and service frequency, based on passenger demand, journey patterns and travel times.
In the Onkaparinga Valley, Route 834 between Verdun and Lobethal will run hourly on weekdays, with five new services in each direction on weekends. That means 10 new weekend services will operate between the two communities each week. Route 835 will also be shortened to operate between Lobethal and Verdun, with connections to Mount Barker available at Verdun.
There will also be 14 additional weekday services between Crafers and Blackwood, an extra morning peak service between Burnside and the City, and additional off-peak and weekend services on routes around Aldgate, Heathfield, Stirling and Crafers.
Some services will also be changed or consolidated as part of the overhaul, including the replacement of several existing routes with new or renumbered services.
One service the community will lose is an express service for Bridgewater and Hahndorf to and from the city.
Passengers can check individual routes and download the new timetables through Adelaide Metro.
