100th Anniversary Service – Macclesfield War Memorial

Sunday March 1st at 10am  – the Main Street of Macclesfield will stop to mark the 100th anniversary of the unveiling of the Macclesfield War Memorial.

Made totally of local stone, this Memorial is dedicated to all those who sacrificed in World War 1 – and then later unfortunately ….. for those of subsequent conflicts. Built and paid for by locals – it is a testament to just what it meant to have a Memorial for those who never came home.

With the Royal Navy Band – the Army and Air Force participating – it is sure to be a Regal Event.

After the Service – the Sub Branch will be open for refreshments and tours of the ANZAC Memorial Gardens will be conducted at the Macclesfield Memorial Oval. With many other events also happening in Macclesfield on that day – “Make it a day in Maccy!”
