Australia Day Celebrations

Murray Bridge
The Rural City of Murray Bridge will host Australia Day celebrations at Edwards Square.
A free community breakfast will be served from 7am, followed by Australia Day Awards and a Citizenship Ceremony commencing at 7.45am.

Strathalbyn
Alexandrina Council will hold a Citizen of the Year Awards ceremony and outdoor Australia Day picnic.
The Strathalbyn and District Concert Band will perform from 7.30am, with the official ceremony beginning at 9am.
Location: Soldiers Memorial Gardens, Strathalbyn.

Goolwa
Alexandrina Council will host an Australia Day Award Ceremony and Citizenship Ceremony.
Proceedings begin at 11am, with guests welcomed by the Goolwa Band.
Location: Centenary Hall, Cadell Street, Goolwa.

Tailem Bend
The Tailem Bend Progress Association will present the Citizen of the Year Award to Donald Green.
The ceremony begins at 9am and will be followed by a BBQ breakfast prepared by the Tailem Bend Lions Club.
Location: Tailem Bend Town Hall, Willow Street precinct.

Coonalpyn
The Coonalpyn Football Club will host a BBQ lunch and Citizen of the Year Award ceremony.
Lunch begins at 12 noon, with official proceedings commencing at 1pm.
Awards include Citizen of the Year, Community Event of the Year and Community Project of the Year.
Location: Coonalpyn Football Oval Clubrooms.

Meningie
Saturday the 24th of January 2026
The Meningie Progress Association will host a Citizen of the Year Award and Citizenship Ceremony, followed by a complimentary morning tea.
The event runs from 10am to 12 noon, with a Park Run held earlier at 8am.
Location: Meningie Lions Jubilee Park.
