Santos Tour Down Under

The Santos Tour Down Under is returning to the Adelaide Hills in January 2024. Adelaide Hills Council are hosting three stages, with another two stages travelling through the hills.

There will be loads of spectators and international media coverage but we also appreciate that the event will impact your business, staff and customers. The following information will help you plan your response to road closures and maybe get involved with the event and your community.

Road Closures

Ziptrak Women’s Stage 1: Hahndorf to Campbelltown
Friday 12 January

Rolling closures will be in place as the race travels through. 

Health Partners Women’s Stage 2: Glenelg to Stirling
Saturday 13 January

Complete closure Mount Barker Road, Stirling, from Gould Road / Twin Street to Merrion Terrace / Johnston Street from 6:00am – 6:30pm.

This will allow building and removal of the finishing line infrastructure and barriers. Visit our website for details on parking restrictions.

efex Men’s Stage 2: Norwood to Lobethal  
Wednesday 17 January

Complete closure Main Street, Lobethal from Woodside Road to Wattle Street and Bartholomew Avenue from Main Street to 100m east of Main Street from 6:00am – 6:30pm.

Health Partners Men’s Stage 3: Tea Tree Gully to Campbelltown
Thursday 18 January

Rolling closures will be in place as the race travels through. 

Schwalbe Men’s Stage 6: Unley to Mount Lofty
Sunday 21 January

Complete closure Mount Lofty Summit Road from Cleland Wildlife Park to Reynolds Drive 6:00am – 6:30pm. This will allow building and removal of the finishing line infrastructure and barriers.

Crafers, Stirling and Bridgewater freeway exits will be impacted by the race from 1:00pm – 4:00pm with closures managed by SA Police. Whilst they will aim to facilitate opening between loops, this will be dependent on race conditions on the day.

Many people use this event as an opportunity to decorate their home, town or business and go in the running to win a prize. If you would like to do this please make sure to register in the Santos Best Dressed Town competition at tourdownunder.com.au.
