The Alexandrina area continues to be the preferred destination for those looking for a change, while Murray Bridge is growing in its popularity, according to new data from the Regional Movers Index.
Over a quarter of all migration in regional SA finishes in the Alexandrina LGA, with the Victor Harbor, Murray Bridge and Kangaroo Island areas rounding out the rest of the top five.
The latest data from the Regional Australia Institute shows that Murray Bridge ranks fifth in the nation for its 12-month increase of capital city dwellers moving to the region.
Overall, the report shows that our backyard is still largely off the radar for those in capital cities, with just three percent of city leavers nationwide coming to regional SA.
