Authorities Investigate Hahndorf Restaurant Fire

A fire has caused extensive damage to a restaurant in the Adelaide Hills, with more than 70 firefighters called to the scene.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a structure fire at The Mustard Seed on Main Street in Hahndorf around 8.30pm on Tuesday night.

Firefighters arrived to find the building fully alight. The restaurant was closed at the time, and no one was inside when the fire broke out.

Twelve Country Fire Service trucks, supported by Metropolitan Fire Service crews, worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Damage to the building is estimated at more than $2 million.

Police and SA Ambulance were also in attendance, while fire cause investigators are expected to examine the site to determine how the blaze started.

Crews remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
