Blackwood Hotel Robber Caught

Police investigations are continuing after a terrifying robbery at a Blackwood hotel on Saturday morning. 

Two armed and masked men gained entry to the closed licensed premises at 2:30am by using an axe, before threatening staff and stealing a small amount of cash. 

No staff were injured during the ordeal.

Their getaway vehicle was found torched just after 3am on Bombay Street in Oaklands Park, with the white Mercedes having been stolen from Highbury last Monday. 

Police arrested a 42-year-old man only a few hours later, after searching a Trott Park property. 

He was charged aggravated serious criminal trespass and aggravated robbery, and was refused bail.
