A cyclist has been reported after allegedly riding along the South Eastern Freeway with a ninja sword in his backpack.
Police were called to the arrester bed at Crafers West at about 10am on Saturday after reports of a cyclist stopped on the busy motorway.
Officers located a 36-year-old man from Tea Tree Gully and checks revealed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Police allege the man was also carrying a 50-centimetre ninja sword in his bag. The weapon was seized.
He has been reported for carrying an offensive weapon and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. He was also issued an expiation notice for riding on the freeway.
