Goolwa/Port Elliot senior coach Trevor Jenkin has resigned following another tough start for the Magpies in the Great Southern Footy League.

The club released a statement last night via Facebook, expressing that the position had become untenable, and that they were striving for more continuity and stability.

The decision comes after one of the largest defeats in the league’s history on Saturday, where they lost by 328 points at home to Great Southern pacesetters Victor Harbor.

The Magpies have started the season 0-4 with a percentage of just 11.53%, which has followed a winless season in 2022 and two wins last year.

The club later in the statement thanked Jenkin for his time with the club, and urged the supporters and club patrons to continue to show its support for the team as it navigated a transition period.
