Karoonda residents have better access to local healthcare from today.
The State Government has stepped in to restore general practitioner services to the region with a new service taking bookings three days a fortnight.
The opening of the Karoonda Mallee Medical Practice at the Karoonda and District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Stokes Road marks the first time in two years the town has had a medical clinic.

GP services are available by appointment from Tuesday to Thursday every fortnight, by phoning reception during office hours.
