The Kookaburras took the sting out of the grand final with a strong bowling performance, holding the Wanderers to 125 in their innings, before Nick Lindner’s run-a ball-55 and a steady 43 from Dwayne Krollig steered Mannum home.

It also caps off an undefeated season for them.

It wasn’t all bad news for the Wanderers though, after they claimed the B grade flag with a two-wicket win over Mypolonga.

GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

The two favourites in the first round of the Great Southern Cricket Association finals have advanced with relative ease, with both Port Elliot and Goolwa winning their elimination finals.

Port Elliot held Mount Compass to 130 before cruising home for an eight-wicket win, while Goolwa comfortably defended their total of 268 to beat McLaren Districts by 111 runs.

It means the final four for next week is the same as last year, with Noarlunga to face Port Elliot and Goolwa to take on Encounter Bay.

HILLS / ALEXANDRA AND EASTERN HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATIONS (HCA scorecards here, AEHCA scorecards here)

The two defending champions in the Hills cricket leagues are into the grand final to defend their crowns, with Stirling and Lobethal winning their qualifying finals on Saturday.

The Eagles belted Meadows by 166 runs, thanks to an extraordinary 136 off 93 balls from captain Jack Read, while Lobethal scraped past their bitter rivals Langhorne Creek to win by a wicket.
