The first round of the Division One finals in the Hills Footy League produced a wild weekend, with an upset and thriller headlining the card.
Uraidla Districts’ late season surge continued with an impressive 32-point win over Mount Lofty in the qualifying final on Saturday, leaving them to battle with Nairne-Bremer for a spot in the grand final next week.
The elimination final saw the end of an incredible streak, with Hahndorf to miss the grand final for the first time in 10 years after they lost a one-point thriller to Lobethal.
Over in the Country Division, Macclesfield are into their first grand final since 1997 after they beat Kangarilla by 17 points in the second qualifying final, while Echunga also advanced with a 56-point win over Kersbrook.
GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
Victor Harbor has flexed their muscles as they look to get back to the Great Southern Footy League grand final, leading from start to finish in their qualifying final over McLaren Districts on Saturday.
The Roos jumped out the blocks quickly and never looked back on their way to a 32-point win, setting themselves up for next week’s major semi when they take on Willunga.
Yesterday’s elimination final saw Myponga-Sellicks keep their premiership defence alive as they beat Encounter Bay by 30 points.
RIVER MURRAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)
Jervois have claimed a thrilling qualifying final over Imperial, with the River Murray Footy League finals starting off with a bang on Saturday.
The Bluds and Double Blues went back and forth all day in a low-scoring tussle, with Errin Wasley-Black, Josh Scott and Josh Hickmott leading the way.
Jervois will now battle Coorong next week for a spot in the grand final.
The elimination final yesterday was far more lop-sided, with Southern Mallee belting Tailem Bend by 82 points to advance.
