It may look like business as usual for the best sides in the River Murray and Great Southern leagues, but the HFL’s Division One leaders look very different in 2026. Catch up on all the action here:

HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE (Division One results here, Country Division results here)

Onkaparinga Valley are now the outright leaders of Division One of the Hills Footy League, after they smashed fellow bolters Blackwood as part of the Round 6 lineup.

The Dogs kicked away in the 2nd quarter to assert themselves as a bonafide flag threat, winning by 70 points (17.14 116 to 6.10 46) to move away from the Woods on the table. 

Other games from the round saw Hahndorf make a statement of their own as they beat Uraidla Districts by 48 points (16.15 111 to 9.9 63) and Lobethal has kept Nairne Bremer winless in a thriller, winning by 3 points (10.4 64 to 9.7 61) to keep the Tigers in fourth.

Over in the Country Division, Meadows got past Echunga in a 9-point arm wrestle (9.11 65 to 8.8 56), Birdwood kicked 4.17 and missed their chance to upset Macclesfield (8.9 57 to 4.17 41) and Bridgewater recorded their biggest win since returning to the HFL, beating Kersbrook by 97 points (26.10 166 to 10.9 69).

GREAT SOUTHERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)

Myponga-Sellicks has surged home to win a top-three thriller in the Great Southern Footy League on Saturday, beating Willunga by six points (11.11 77 to 10.11 71) in Round 7 action.

The Mudlarks trailed at every break but were in front when it mattered, moving them into outright second on the table.

In other matches, Encounter Bay won a thriller of their own as they kicked straighter to beat Langhorne Creek by 5 (9.6 60 to 7.13 55) in a key edge-of-finals battle and McLaren Districts smashed Victor Harbor by 123 points (23.13 151 to 4.4 28) in a lopsided grand final rematch.

RIVER MURRAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE (full results here)

Jervois are once again set to contend for the flag in 2026, as they belted top four hopefuls Mannum by 66 points (15.14 104 to 5.8 38) as part of Round 7 play in the River Murray Footy League on Saturday. 

The Bluds breezed away early to cruise to victory, with Cameron Poharama leading the way with four majors.

Elsewhere, Mallee Districts’ incredible turnaround has continued, winning their third straight match in a 5-point thriller against Tailem Bend (8.12 60 to 8.7 55), while Southern Mallee remained in the top five with a 44-point win over Rambler (14.9 93 to 6.13 49).
