South Australia has reached a new property milestone, with 191 suburbs or towns now recording a median house price of $1 million or more.
The latest PropTrack data shows a sharp jump from 137 suburbs just last month, pushing the state well beyond the 150 mark for the first time. The surge reflects continued strength at the top end of the market, but adds further pressure for buyers trying to break into home ownership.
While Adelaide’s coastal suburb of Tennyson leads the state with a median of $3.48 million, the ripple effect is being felt across regional areas including the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
In the Adelaide Hills, Stirling now sits at $1.71 million, Aldgate at $1.625 million and Hahndorf at $1.257 million. Summertown and Echunga have also climbed above $1.5 million, while Macclesfield has reached the $1 million threshold.
On the Fleurieu Peninsula, Carrickalinga has hit $1.5 million and Finniss sits at $1.3 million, with Tooperang just edging into seven figures at $1 million.
The data highlights how dramatically property values have shifted across South Australia in recent years.
