The Mount Barker Council plans to spend $80,000 on new shelving to expand the local library collection.
The district is working to bring the facility closer to industry standard, making way for an extra 3,000-5,000 books.
That money’s been set aside in the draft budget and business plan, along with a $10,000 spend on a pilot program to improve service delivery across the district.

Analysis from consultants AEC Group earlier this year found that the current facility is at capacity and should move to Mann Street or the city centre.
Despite that, 93 per cent of survey respondents said it should remain in its current location.
