Murray Bridge’s Senior Constable First Class David Brown has been recognised as the 2025 SA Police Officer of the Year for his dedication to crime prevention in the Murray Mallee region.
Fondly known in the community as “officer everywhere”, Brown is involved in a wide range of local initiatives, including Neighbourhood Watch, the Murray Bridge Blue Light boxing program, and Coffee with a Cop. He also delivers regular school and community talks on topics such as bullying, cybercrime awareness, and home security.
Originally from Liverpool in the UK, the 49-year-old moved to Australia with his wife in 2006. Inspired by a police recruitment advert on the back of a bus in Adelaide, he joined SAPOL in 2008 and has since built a 17-year career across both regional and metro postings.
The annual award is presented by the Rotary Club of Unley, in partnership with SAPOL, to acknowledge officers who’ve made a lasting contribution to community service and development.
