Families in the Murraylands are set to benefit from a new early childhood development program thanks to a funding boost through the Variety Brats Bash.

The Tailem Bend Community Centre will deliver a 10-week sensory play and movement program in Murray Bridge for children aged 0 to 5.

The program is designed to support early development and build key skills in a safe and inclusive setting.

The non-for-profit organisation is responding to growing demand for accessible weekend services in the region, with cost-of-living pressures and travel distances making it harder for some families to attend weekday programs.

Sessions will be held on Sunday mornings to better suit working households, while also reducing the need for travel to access services outside the region.

More than 100 children are expected to benefit, with the program also supporting parents and carers to build confidence in early learning at home.

Expressions of interest for the first 50 families will open soon via the Tailem Bend Community Centre website.

The Tailem Bend Community Centre is an independent organisation that supports the diverse needs of 15 Local Government regions from Mount Gambier to the Riverland and everywhere in between for people of all ages.
