A motorcycle rider has died following a crash during a racing event at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Police and emergency services were called to the private racetrack just before 11am on Sunday after reports of a crash during a motorcycle racing event.
The rider was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Motorcycling South Australia and The Bend have described it as a “critical incident” and extended their condolences to the rider’s family, friends and the wider motorsport community.
Motorcycling Australia also confirmed it was working with relevant authorities following the incident.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The rider’s identity has not been released though 7NEWS reports it was a woman in her 50s.
Police and event organisers have asked that the privacy of the rider’s family, friends and others affected by the incident be respected.
