A man from the South Coast has been charged after police allegedly uncovered a large quantity of suspected stolen property at a Hayborough address.

SAPOL says officers attended the property on Saturday the 21st of February and located numerous bicycles believed to be stolen. A further search allegedly uncovered additional items including Ronix wakeboards and boots, pressure washers, bikes and e-bikes, power tools and collectable figures.

Police allege some of the items had serial numbers scratched off or removed.

Investigators suspect the property has been stolen from across the Fleurieu region, particularly in the Goolwa to Victor Harbor area and surrounding districts.

The 45-year-old man from Hayborough was arrested and charged with theft, unlawful possession and breach of bail. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday the 23rd of February.

Police are now working to identify and return the seized property to its rightful owners. Anyone who recognises the items is urged to contact Victor Harbor Police or provide information via Crime Stoppers South Australia on 1800 333 000 or online, quoting reference 49593.

Residents who have recently had similar property stolen are also encouraged to ensure the theft has been reported, to assist police in matching recovered items with existing reports.
