A Parliamentary select committee looking at the South Australian 2022/23 flood response has handed down the final report.

This week the select committee’s report outlined 23 recommendations following evidence given after the 2022/23 River Murray flood event.

Communication was one element lacking according to the report, both from Government agencies to the community, as well as between government agencies themselves.

The report also raised questions over how the clean-up tender process was conducted, after a Victorian based contractor was awarded a $56M contract.

Riverland based Shadow Minister for Water Resources and River Murray, Nicola Centofanti is calling for the Government to adopt all recommendations in full and commit to releasing a formal response within 60 days.
