Some of Australia’s best-known comedians are heading to the Adelaide Hills next month for the launch of a brand-new comedy festival.
A Good Laugh will run across three weekends from the 1st to the 16th of May, bringing more than 20 performers to seven venues including Nairne, Hahndorf, Meadows and Mount Barker.
Headliners include Claire Hooper, Damian Callinan, Dilruk Jayasinha, Melinda Buttle, Alex Ward, Michael Hing and Kevin Kropinyeri.
A gala night and street party in Mount Barker closes off the festival on Saturday the 16th.
Mount Barker District Council Mayor David Leach says the new festival will further add to the region’s appeal all year round.
“One of Council’s goals is to grow our events calendar to support resident wellbeing, attract visitors and boost local business outside peak season, and A Good Laugh ticks all these boxes,” Leach said.
“We also recognise the need for affordable events that cater to all ages – from ticketed events for older audiences to the free family day, A Good Laugh shows comedy is for everyone.”
