SA Police Allege Recent Tanunda Fires Were “Deliberately Lit”

Detectives from SA Police are calling for assistance, as they investigate a spate of recent fires in the Barossa this month.

On Monday 8 April, police and fire crews were called to the train line behind a supermarket at Tanunda after reports of a fire; no property was damaged as a result, as CFS crews responded quickly.

Ten days later, a stack of pallets placed against the side of shed at a business premises was set alight causing damage to the shed.

Two more fires were lit in the following days, including one which started a small grass fire near a fence line on Basedow Road.

Police allege that the activity is suspicious, with all fires being within close proximity of each other.
