Four teenagers have been arrested after allegedly crashing a stolen car in Hindmarsh Valley.

About 9.15am yesterday, Wednesday 28 January, an off-duty police member spotted a stolen Ford ute being driven in Nairne. The car had been stolen from a Morphett Vale address earlier in the day.

PolAir responded and tracked the vehicle with police able to successfully spike the ute’s tyres on Victor Harbor Road.

The car continued driving on its rims for a distance before side swiping a Mercedes sedan and coming to a stop. Police quickly arrested four suspects as they allegedly tried to flee.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.

A 16-year-old Morphett Vale boy, a 16-year-old Mount Barker boy, a 16-year-old Nairne boy and a 14-year-old Campbelltown girl were all charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle.

The stolen car was towed from the scene for forensic examination.
