Two Arrested after Stolen Range Rover Recovered in Murray Bridge

Two Murray Bridge men have been arrested after police recovered a Range Rover that was stolen from Strathalbyn more than six months ago.

Police spotted the stolen SUV on Marchand Street in Murray Bridge at about 2pm on Tuesday the 15th of September, before following it to a nearby shopping centre car park.

The vehicle stopped and both occupants allegedly fled on foot.

Police gave chase and arrested the driver, a 28-year-old Murray Bridge man, who was charged with theft of a motor vehicle. He was granted bail and is due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on the 26th of October.

The passenger, a 36-year-old Murray Bridge man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Police allege he kicked an officer during the arrest. He was subsequently charged with assaulting a prescribed emergency worker, disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.

The officer was not injured.

The Range Rover was stolen from Strathalbyn on March 12 and has been towed away for forensic examination.
