Two young drivers have been taken to hospital following separate single-vehicle crashes in Cockatoo Valley and Middleton.
Just after 8am yesterday, Sunday the 3rd of August, emergency services were called to Balmoral Road at Cockatoo Valley where a car had crashed into a tree.
A 21-year-old Springton man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The road was temporarily closed while Major Crash investigators examined the scene, and the vehicle was later towed away.
Around 10.30am, a second crash occurred on Flagstaff Hill Road at Middleton.
A Ford ute hit a tree with such force that the engine was pushed into the cab. The driver, a 19-year-old Taperoo man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to hospital. That vehicle was also towed from the scene.
Police are investigating both incidents. Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
