Amy Adams is known for playing heroes on the big screen, but it turns out she’s had a real-life superhero moment too.
The actress recently revealed that she once helped save a man’s life after witnessing a shocking stabbing incident while out with her family in Santa Monica.
A Terrifying Scene
Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, Adams explained that she was leaving a restaurant when people nearby began yelling that a man was dying.
Realising the seriousness of the situation, she and her father rushed over to help.
Using beach towels they had with them, the pair applied pressure to the man’s neck wound and stayed with him until paramedics arrived. Adams said she focused on keeping him calm and controlling his breathing while they waited for emergency services.
A Life Saved
Thankfully, the man survived the ordeal.
While it was undoubtedly a frightening experience, Adams’ quick thinking and willingness to step in helped keep the injured man stable until professional help arrived.
An Emotional Reunion
In an incredible twist, Adams later ran into the same man about a year later at another restaurant.
After recognising him, the pair shared an emotional reunion, with the man thanking her for helping save his life.
It’s not every day you hear about a Hollywood star stepping in during a life-or-death situation, but Amy Adams proved that sometimes superheroes don’t wear capes.
