Paramount Pictures and Legendary have dropped a new official trailer for the live-action Street Fighter movie, sending Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li back into the ring ahead of the film’s October 16 theatrical release.

Set in 1993, the story follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) as they’re pulled back into combat when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament.

What looks like a clash of fists and rivalries quickly turns darker: a conspiracy behind the tournament forces the pair to confront each other and the unfinished business in their past. The latest footage embraces the arcade action and craziness fans expect from Street Fighter. It teases signature moves, over-the-top matchups, and the weakened bond between Ryu and Ken, including Ryu’s reluctance to fight again until Chun-Li makes it personal.

Alongside Koji, Centineo, and Liang, the cast includes Cody Rhodes as Guile, Orville Peck as Vega, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, and Eric André as Don Sauvage. Sakurai directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with T.J. Fixman.

The film was shot in Australia during the second half of last year. Legendary is co-developing and co-producing with Capcom, with Paramount distributing.

Street Fighter opens in cinemas on October 16.
