Authorities Urge Locals To Be Ready Ahead Of Dangerous Weather Tomorrow

Residents of the Murraylands and Mount Lofty Ranges are being urged to be prepared for severe weather, with dangerous conditions predicted to arrive locally in the early hours.

Seven districts, including the Murraylands, Mount Lofty Ranges and Riverland, will be subject to total fire bans, with Emergency Services Joe Szakacs stating that tomorrow could be one of the most dangerous days this summer.

Warm gusty winds are travelling from the west of the state this evening, coinciding with hot temperatures overnight, causing the CFS to have all of their aerial fleet on standby.

A cool change is expected to arrive at different times across our regions, with areas around the Adelaide Hills and South Coast expected to see a shift in the morning, while the Murraylands and Riverland will most likely see a change in the afternoon.

Szakacs says it’s time to be ready.

“Complacency must be parked to the side,” Szakacs said in the press conference.

“As a state, we are facing serious conditions … It’s time to put in place your bushfire planning.”

“Every moment that you use to plan for a fire, is a moment that puts you in a better position should a fire threaten your community.”
