The ‘Bitumen Bandits’ have reportedly scammed residents out of thousands of dollars in Waitpinga in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The scammers go door-to-door asking residents if they would like a cheap job to be completed with the extra concrete they have available from a previous job. They either fail to do the task or do such a terrible job that they pressure the victim into paying more money for it to be finished.

There have been reports all over the state and country in recent years, with the Bitumen Bandits usually targeting regional residents. In March this year there were reports of the itinerant tradies scamming flood victims along the River Murray.
