A $38 million restart on copper mining in the Adelaide Hills has been given the green light.

Over 130 new jobs are expected to be created, with drilling already underway ahead of the first shipping of copper concentrate early next year.

The prospect of living locally has been received well by prospective staff, according to company director Lachlan Wallace.

Mining Minister Tom Koutsantonis was thrilled to see the project begin again, saying the mine will provide a great boost to the local and state economy.
