A 45-year-old Hindmarsh Island man has become the 72nd life lost on SA roads this year, after a head-on collision this afternoon in Sandergrove.
Just before 12.30pm, emergency services were called to Alexandrina Road after a van and a truck towing a trailer collided.
The Hindmarsh Island man, as the driver and sole occupant of the van, died at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 61-year-old Murray Bridge man, was not physically injured.
Alexandrina Road remains closed between Brookdale Road and Allandale Road while Major Crash Investigators examine the scene.
