Fishing has been banned in Byethorne Park at Nairne in the Adelaide Hills.
It comes after reports of an increased number of wildlife injuries due to hooks and discarded fishing lines, particularly to turtles and ducks.
During a three-week community survey in January and February, 125 people responded, with 74 (59.2%) in favor of the ban, and 51 (40.8%) against.

The ban, specific to Byethorne Park, has been put into effect immediately.
