Local families are being asked to put forward their suggestions for what a perfect playground might look like, as the Rural City of Murray Bridge redesigns two local sites.

They’re asking residents to identify what features they’d like to see included in the Magpie Drive and Torrens Road Reserve playground upgrades, after they were picked as sites in need of improvement.

A similar community consultation was undertaken last year, with Wellington’s Baker Reserve playground receiving a flying fox and outdoor gym equipment following suggestions from the public.

CEO Heather Barclay says these are important playgrounds to get right.

“Playgrounds are an important building block in the liveability of our communities,” she
said.

“We know from recent community workshops, and from the Baker Reserve consultation last year, that families and residents are really passionate about their communities and have some great ideas about how we can make the best use of recreation spaces.”

The Magpie Drive and Torrens Road Reserve Playground Upgrade surveys are available on Council’s Facebook page, Council’s consultation portal letstalk.sa.gov.au, and paper copies can be found at the Local Government Centre and the Murray Bridge Library.

Submissions close at 5pm Saturday 14 October.
