Australia’s food safety watchdog has recalled three alcoholic drinks due to the presence of an allergen that could pose a risk to some consumers.
Hills Distillery’s 750ml 78 Degrees Rosso vermouth, 750ml 78 Degrees dry vermouth and 750ml 78 Degrees rosé vermouth have all been recalled because of the presence of an undeclared sulfite allergen.
“Any consumers who have a sulfites allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” Food Standards Australia New Zealand said.
The recall only applies to products that have not declared the allergen. (Batch Codes: 22060 (Dry, Rosso, Rose), 22244 (Rosso), 22333 (Dry, Rosso, Rose)).
The wines have been sold nationally at independent liquor stores and Dan Murphy’s in NSW, South Australia and Victoria and at BWS in South Australia.
Drinkers with the allergy who purchased the wines are advised to contact Hills Distillery on 02 5133 7007 for a full refund.
