After 40 years the Tailem Bend Music Hall is presenting its last four shows this month.
The curtains are closing this year on the annual community stage show extravaganza, presented by the Tailem Bend Rotary Club.
Almost every year since 1983, community members from Tailem Bend and surrounding districts have come together to perform music, cabaret, drama and comedy on stage.
The non-for-profit Rotary Club of Tailem Bend has made many thousands of dollars for local Community funding and initiatives applied for through the Rotary Club of Tailem Bend Community Grants program.
Every dollar raised through the Music Hall events has been returned to the Community.
After a year off and the challenges of the COVID pandemic, Director Sandy Prizibilla has decided to run just one last show.
“We just thought well after 40 years, it’s a good number to actually finish up on, on a big high… everything must come to an end of course so, yeah, just thinking about something different in the future,” Sandy Priziblla said.
Tracy Piltz, who now works at 5MU and Power FM in administration, has been part of the Tailem Bend Music Hall for many years and joined to get to know the community while working as a bank manager in the town.
“You can get up on stage and be somebody completely different and forget about the humdrum of life,” Tracy Piltz said.
“I thought it was a good way to meet people and also to enjoy singing and dancing.”
