Murray Bridge Police Make Multiple Arrests

Murray Mallee police have been busy over the past few days making several arrests for various incidents, including an aggravated robbery, travelling with a cache of weapons, drink driving and driving unlicenced.

A 27-year-old local man has been charged over an aggravated robbery following a hold up at a Swanport Road service station on Monday 24 July. He was called into court that day and refused police bail.

A 28-year-old Adelaide woman was also called into court yesterday facing several charges including drive unlicenced, contravene direction to stop motor vehicle, drive at speed dangerous, leave the scene of an accident and contravene a condition of Learner’s permit. It’s alleged she sped away from patrols after they attempted to pull her over for driving unregistered on Saturday 22 July. She then allegedly crashed her car and fled the scene again. When police conducted a search they allegely uncovered hammers, a homemade baton, meat cleaver, a motor vehicle ignition barrel and key in her vehicle.

A 37-year-old local man has been charged with fighting, assaulting an emergency worker and resisting arrest following an incident at a pub at 2am Saturday. It is alleged a security guard was assaulted while trying to break up a fight and a police officer was grabbed while arresting the man. He has been bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 4 September.

A 38-year-old local man has been charged for allegedly drink driving and fleeing the scene of a crash on Bowhill Road on Friday 21 July. The suspect was caught with help from PolAir and submitted to a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.220, according to SAPOL. He lost his licence on the spot for twelve months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summoned to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

A 19-year-old woman on her L plates has been fined after driving without a supervising driver. She also allegedly blew .03 – which is above the zero alcohol requirement for L platers.

And a 32-year old woman is due to face court soon after allegedly drink driving and driving while disqualified. Her car has also been impounded.
