An event planned for this Friday to coincide with International Women’s Day has been postponed due to the scorching forecast in Murray Bridge.
The Rural City is expecting a 39°C day on Friday 8 March with temperatures to rise again into Saturday.
An event, with MC Jennie Lenman, featuring entertainment, food, drinks and interviews with prominent women in the community was planned for the Round House in the evening, with funds raised to go to the Haven in Murray Bridge.
Today, organiser Tracey Finocchio has posted on her business page about the change of plans.
“After careful consideration and monitoring of the weather forecast, it has come to our attention that the day of the event is expected to bring scorching temperatures that could potentially pose health risks to our attendees,” Tracey wrote on the Riverside Wood Fired Pizza Facebook page today.
She has already set a new date of Friday 19 April.
