A local butcher has taken home 11 National awards and has been recognised for Best Shortcut Bacon in the Australia.
Family-owned Mount Pleasant Butcher, in the Southern Barossa region, was awarded nine gold medals and two national awards at the recent Australia Charcuterie Excellence Awards in Melbourne.
Dubbed the ‘Logies’ of the meat world, the awards recognise products of quality and excellence in the small goods industry across the country.

Up the River and Waikerie’s Rollbusch Quality Meats took out Best Ham in the Nation and Gawler’s Wintulichs Smallgoods flew home with gold in the Streaky Bacon category.
