A 22-year-old man and his 19-year-old passenger will be facing court, following a dramatic police chase yesterday afternoon.

Just after 2pm, police were conducting speed detection duties on the Princes Highway when they caught a gold Commodore travelling at 133k m/h in a 100 km/h zone.

After failing to stop for police, the vehicle headed west on the Princes Highway through Tailem Bend.

The car’s tyres were spiked in Monteith, however it didn’t stop the driver from continuing to evade police; they continued travelling onto Jervois Road where it was picked up by PolAir and tracked as it continued west onto Langhorne Creek Road.

After 90 minutes on the road, the car eventually pulled over near Lee Road, with the driver and passenger attempting to flee into a paddock.

Police quickly arrested the pair, who are both facing multiple charges.

The driver also tested positive for methamphetamine, and faced court today after being refused bail.

The passenger was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 25 March.
