The Mayor of Mount Barker has clarified what has happened to the proposal for a second McDonalds in the growing Adelaide Hills town.
A development application has been knocked back for the proposal on Wellington Street, following concern from neighbours.
Mayor David Leach told ARN’s Jennie Lenman and Adam Connelly on Thursday 27 July that there were a few things the Council Assessment Panel did not approve in the latest proposal.
“The height of the pylon sign is supposed to be 8 metres, the design was for 9 metres and some other matters around the way that it affects the other residents nearby, the height of the fences and soundproofing and amenties,” he said, adding that developers will have another shot at the application in future.
“Once its refused, the developers can then come back with another proposition at another date.”
