A 37-year-old truck driver from Victor Harbor has been arrested and charged following an extensive investigation into a November 2024 crash in Wattle Flat.
The crash occurred on Main South Road, with a truck and trailer colliding with three different vehicles.
Two rear passengers in a Ford sedan were killed; a 44-year-old woman died at the scene, while a second woman died in hospital.
Seven others suffered various injuries, with a driver and passenger both taken to hospital at the time with in a serious condition.
Major Crash Investigators made the arrest yesterday following 20 months of work regarding the incident, with the truck driver charged with two counts of cause death by careless driving and two counts of cause serious harm by careless driving.
He is bailed to appear in the Victor Harbor Magistrates Court in early August.
